When The Rockville Film Society began 87 days ago (feels like years ago at this point), I had a loose idea of what this group could be.
We would be a social group that met to chat about movies, and maybe be a way to follow through on a dream of mine: to exhibit the movies I love in a public forum.
Today, coming off the excitement, passion, and genuine joy felt at our third meeting last night I can’t help but smile.
The Rockville Film Society is now a pretty familiar group of people that are welcoming more and more new members each week.
Each month, we leave each other with a few new recommendations to check out, alongside our classic favorite “trash pandas” (Con Air watch along anyone?).
Above all, by sharing the stories and the titles we care for, we actually come together as people.
Movies bring everyone together unlike anything else in this world. I’ll die on that Hollywood Hill. Just like Frozen 2 being a superior movie to Frozen.
April is an exciting month in the world of film. I could not be more grateful to have a group of people to turn to and ask, “what have you seen lately”.
Already looking forward to our meeting on May 7th.
