The Rockville Film Society

I’ve always appreciated the sneaky momentum that comes with the Fall movie season.

Summer gives us boisterous blockbusters, inflated budget franchise films, and in the case of 2026, several break out genre titles.

Autumn has the reputation of being the six or seven weeks that festival films can begin rolling into wider distribution. We see some movies that break out of Shudder confinement and find themselves doing modestly well.

This September we even see the return of Avengers: Endgame with an Encore edition, featuring additional footage to prime the engine for Doomsday on December 18th.

Film Screening and a Pre-Film Discussion

On October 17th at 10:00 AM, the Rockville Film Society presents a Secret Film Screening. While we can’t reveal the title, we can say this:

Join us at 10:00 AM for a pre-film conversation with Matthew Leonard of Lionheart Puppet Company. We will discuss puppetry and animation in film.

October Meeting

September Movie Bingo

We are now almost complete with our September Movie Bingo, with two members already hitting a Bingo. Comment on this post with a number 1 through 30, and I will send you your own card to play along as well.

Our first display in August was met with great feedback, and display items were extremely popular in September. Almost half of the display was consistently checked out and enjoyed by the community.
